The Metrocentre is an iconic shopping centre located in Gateshead, Newcastle. The Shopping centre became the second biggest shopping centre in the UK, with over 300 shops, closely followed by The Trafford Centre in Manchester, with around 280 shops. The Metrocentre is a popular hotspot for shopping and eating, a world class indoor shopping venue filled with retail stores, shops, restaurants, an arcade and cinema.
The Metrocentre is an ideal escape for date nights or spending time with your friends & family with activities such as the Odeon cinema, followed by a meal in the vast variety of over 50 restaurants. Some restaurants include Nandos, Wagamamas, TGI Friday, Pizza Express, Zizis, pasta bars as well as fast food restaurants such as McDonalds and KFC.
The Metro offers a wide variety of popular and independent stores such as Primark, River Island, Footasylum, Oasis, M&S, The Body Shop, Hotel Chocolate, Victoria secret and more. This shopping centre is ideal for a shopping spree and great for Christmas shopping with everything you need under one roof. Did I mention there is an arcade, including arcade games, bumper cars and a bowling alley! Creating family fun for all ages.
The Metrocentre is just a short 10 minute train ride from Newcastle central station and a 30 minute bus ride. Perfect if you’re wanting to get out of the city centre and explore a new environment. This shopping venue is open Monday to Friday from 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-7pm and Sunday 11am-5pm. This allows plenty of time and opportunity to discover one of the Uk’s biggest shopping centres and all they have to offer.
